Youthful expression has always been a mainstay of socio-political commentary for the work of writers, photographers, journalists and sociologists, but now the game has changed. Social media has meant that getting a message out is easier than ever and that youth culture is more informed than ever before.

Essentially, it's become so simple and direct that youth subcultures from all over the world are getting their message out. Ukraine is one of the countries in the Eastern bloc that has become exciting and fascinating and these guys are offering us an intimate insider's perspective on it, a type of grassroots media approach that the rest of Europe would otherwise have had to do without.
The Gorsad group gained prominence not long after Ukraine went through one of their most difficult periods in modern history. Their answer was brave, reckless, vital and fun - all the defining characteristics of youth. Censorship in Ukraine has stopped the images being displayed in galleries but through their Tumblr and Instagram, they've gained a level of exposure that have kept fans coming back to see what the trio are up to.
More recently, galleries around Europe have displayed their raw and provocative images, even creating a magazine in the process, all building up to their 10 year celebration in May this year, curating the way that the rest of the world consume and understand an often misunderstood part of the world.
